Portland Fish & Ships Festival 2016

Portland Fish & Ships Festival 2016

Portland Marina, operated by Dean & Reddyhoff, hosted its annual Portland Fish & Ships Festival over the weekend of 9th April.

The festival, which celebrates all that is good about Dorset, on, off and below the sea, provides great food and drink from Dorset’s finest and an opportunity to see what goes on down at the marina, as they throw open their doors to the public over the weekend of food, fun, watersports and live music.

Coleman Marine Insurance were, as always, in attendance and on hand to discuss with visitors their marine insurance requirements.
As with any outside event in April on the South coast of England, the weather is an important element, so we were all pleased with the way the day started. Blue skies and a gentle south westerly as we left Poole.

Now in its third year, the show, on the lovely site of Osprey Quay, saw a steady stream of visitors from eleven o'clock on the Saturday enjoying the sunshine and relaxed atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the Sunday was not good with strong winds and rain predicted, so the difficult decision was made to cancel the show for the Sunday.

However, as always, the event was enjoyed by both exhibitors and visitors alike and Coleman look forward to returning in 2017.
