Coleman Marine in the news
2021 has been a busy year so far. As well as continuing to provide a quality service for our clients despite the challenges of working from home, we’ve also been featured in the press recently.
Our Managing Director, Steve Risk, was interviewed by Insurance Post this month. Insurance Post is the one of the UK’s leading sources of insight and analysis on all aspects of the UK insurance industry. The feature, published on their website, explores the changes in the yacht market in recent years, with key specialists from the marine sector invited to comment.
The article looked at the developments in the marine insurance sector, from the rise in mergers and acquisitions to the increased use of data and analytics in the market. With 2020 seeing a rise in people holidaying at home and getting out on the water, it was a buoyant year for the yacht sector overall.
Steve said,” The marine market was incredibly busy last year. We had a phenomenal year. There is a lot for the marine market to be positive about.”
There was common agreement amongst that specialists that experience and knowledgeable staff were key requirements for brokers servicing boat owners. Steve also highlighted Coleman Marine Insurance’s ability to provide insurance for marine craft in Europe, which many smaller brokers may struggle to provide.
We’ve also appeared in a publication closer to home, with our latest edition of Marine Matters published online at Dorset Biz News.
This monthly series features interviews with local businesses and organisations, with the February edition including an interview with Tracy Payne from Poole Harbour Commission (PHC). Tracy gives some fascinating insight into the role of PHC, and the diverse nature of her role as Marketing Manager for the organisation. Jane Haas, Marine Claims Handler from our Coleman Marine Insurance Team takes part in this month’s Q&A session, revealing her close connections with the marine sector both in a personal and professional capacity.
If you’ve missed any previous editions of Marine Matters the series is available online and includes interviews with Salterns Marina and the Professional Boatmen’s Association, plus other members of our team.
